Those who enjoy comedic farce will giggle non-stop” – Port Dover Maple Leaf

Too Many Cooks is a hilarious comedy… a huge success.” – Simcoe Reformer

It’s 1932 in Niagara Falls, Canada, where the rum-running business is at its peak.

After the crash, Irving Bubbalowe and his daughter Honey risked everything to open a new restaurant. But when their star singing chef, the renowned François LaPlouffe, fails to show up for the grand opening, the event is suddenly in jeopardy. The struggling Bubbalowe also must deal with Chicago gangsters who have come in search of an illegal liquor shipment that, without Bubbalowe’s knowledge, has ended up in his basement. Additionally, they need to stay ahead of the hot-blooded Immigration officer tracking the missing chef, as well as evade the suspicious Mountie ready to arrest Bubbalowe for both murder and bootlegging.

Madness breaks out as Bubbalowe and the others weave a tangled web of false stories and personas in their desperate attempt to rescue the restaurant – and themselves – from the threats of both mobsters and police.

Was excellent…must say it is one of the best non vocal performances I have seen at Stage West…very active…comical…and good actors and actresses. Buffet as always superb!!” ~Caren

We all enjoyed the play. There were moments of hilarity.  The acting and timing was spot on.  It was a very entertaining evening and the variety on the buffet was outstanding.  We all ate too much.  I love their cookies.” ~Kitty & Peter

We found this production to be very funny and entertaining, keeping the audience involved throughout the evening – slapstick is still alive and well today. The entire cast were excellent and Mark Weatherley showed his stage experience seamlessly carrying on with his water incident as though all planned. The many interactions of the actors was well done, especially for the opening night. The set was very fitting for the play. A feel good show that left the audience with a smile on their face – what more could be asked. Once again, the buffet provided a wonderful assortment. This should be another successful show for SW.” ~Dan & Luisa
